Designer (Tenant Design Review)

What would it be like to be a Tenant Design Review Coordinator at GH+A?

GH+A has an in-house Design Review Team. As a member of the team, you would provide design reviews of individual retail tenant submissions. Design submissions submitted to GH+A are annotated with suggested improvements supported by inspirational photographs and illustrated by a sketch and a schematic elevation/section, as deemed necessary. You would be under the supervision of the Tenant Design Review Senior Coordinator and work collaboratively with the tenant’s designer in order to raise the bar of their submissions and achieve design quality. The ideal candidate has experience in retail design and at maintaining a positive relationship with tenants. He or she possesses excellent communication skills to provide absolute clarity, inspire, inform and advise the parties involved.

  • Fully understand and implement each properties’ design criteria manuals
  • Follow the pre-set 3-stage Tenant Review process; Preliminary Review, Final Review, and Signage Review of manufacture’s shop drawings
  • Quickly research images & place into a review document
  • Sketch alternative options for review with Tenant Review Leader
  • Participate in conference calls with all pertaining parties per tenant review
  • Update each of the properties’ status charts

What are our ”must-haves” for this position?

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of a 3 year program in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or Equivalent
  • 5 years of retail and mall design and/or project management experience
  • Must be able to fully comprehend every aspect of each and every Criteria (per each different property)
  • Thorough understanding of the retail industry
  • Knowledge of National Building Codes, building materials and systems, such as MEP and life safety

Abilities

  • Bilingual; Possess Excellent communication skills in English; speaking & written
  • Ability to read and thoroughly understand construction documents
  • Must be organized & work in a time-efficient manner
  • Ability to easily focus on the task (review) at hand, even with call interruptions from landlords, tenants, etc.
  • Conceptualize through hand sketching and illustration
  • Be independent, autonomous and very responsible
