Halifax Shopping Centre Food Court

Halifax, Nova Scotia

from bowling alley to food court

A former bowling alley has been radically transformed into a sun-drenched food court with a terrace at the back of the property. The reconfiguration of this section of the building has created bold new vistas from the shopping mall to the food court on the lower level. The imposing two-level double height glass entrance suggests the voluminous two-level atrium gateway to the food court. Future tenants with full height glazing on the upper level will form an animated retail perimeter surrounding the food court contributing to vibrant retail expression of the entire two-level space. The crisp white palette is softened with warm natural wood accents, a fireplace, landscaping and pops of blue to add depth and drama.
